Memberships:
Not what you thought…
You might be wondering what we mean by memberships and how they will help grow your business (even if the business is just you). After all, we usually think of memberships for things like the gym or netflix.
A win-win for you and your customers
A membership is simply a (great) way to sell, and a great way for your customer to buy from you. And nearly anything can be sold as a membership - daily dog walking services, weekly clarinet classes, or monthly baked good deliveries.
Customer Benefits
Membership offer your customers an amazing user experience:
Customers sign up for your membership once, and get your product/service repeatedly, hassle free.
Customers get your farm fresh eggs/lawn mowing/coaching on a schedule, giving them peace of mind.
You can offer your customers special deals they can’t get elsewhere (better pricing? a jar of homage jam with every other muffin delivery?).
Customers buy directly from you, cutting out the middleman
They can try your product or service before committing (which is also a great way for you to get more people interested)
What’s in it for you
You get repeat,
loyal customers.
You get repeat, loyal customers. (The value of a membership customer is five times higher than a non-membership customer.)
You
have control
You have control over how fast you grow - you decide how many members you want at any given time.
Waiting
lists
If you’ve reached your limit, you will have a waiting list for when you’re ready to further grow the business.
(And create some FOMO on the way)
You get visibility
and predictability
You get visibility and predictability - how much work you’ll have, what you need to prepare and when you’ll need to deliver, how much money you’ll make, etc.
Memberships
as a new channel
Memberships are complementary to any other places you’re already selling (online, in a store etc).

Memberships are for (nearly) everyone. Whether you’re selling a service (dog walking, coaching) or a product (homemade soaps, muffins), memberships allow you to build a loyal, repeat customer base for your business. And it gives your customers the ability to order once and enjoy your products or services on an ongoing basis, hassle free.
In our experience, memberships are usually a great way to sell. However, with Loyatlie, you can test the waters, risk free. You simply set up your Loyaltie page, offer a membership plan (ie, what you want to sell), and share the link to the page on social media and with friends and family etc. You will then see what the level of interest is, and only move forward if enough people are interested.
That’s totally fine. Think of memberships as another way to reach your customers (in addition to a website, a store, etsy, shopify etc). This channel is unique in that customers get what you’re selling on an ongoing basis and you can offer them special deals and products to build a loyal customer base. .
That’s totally fine. Customers can cancel their membership at any time.
Customers can pause their membership any time.
Of course, and that’s a great way to test the waters. You can set up a membership plan that is free for the first week/month/delivery, and only then start charging your customers.
- They get your products/services on an ongoing basis without the hassle of constantly reordering.
- You can offer products that aren’t available elsewhere.
- You can offer special deals.
- They have a sense that they are in an ‘in crowd’ of people buying from you.
