Who would’ve thought that simply learning about occupational hazards could completely shift the trajectory of my career?

I once dreamed of becoming a professional cosmetologist—until I discovered that stylists face a threefold increased risk of developing reproductive cancers due to repeated exposure to chemicals and dyes. The statistics are even more alarming for Black women, who, on average, have a lower five-year survival rate from these conditions.

That moment changed everything.

It’s why I’m deeply passionate about clean beauty and treating the whole person—naturally and holistically. In college, I studied Public Health and Public Policy to explore ways to prevent unnecessary disease and premature death. Later, I earned my Master’s in Traditional East Asian Medicine and Acupuncture from Emperor’s College to go one step further: providing direct care, herbal medicine, and beauty solutions that support health from the inside out—with minimal side effects.

With over 25 years of experience as a natural hair stylist who no longer uses dyes or chemical relaxers, I now dedicate each day to researching clean beauty alternatives and functional personal care products that promote whole-body wellness
