Our advice is based upon our own experience and research articles we have read over the years but is no substitute for the advice you should obtain from your health care professional. We get them from Ukraine. That's right! We have been supporting the Ukranian farmers before and through the war. Over the years, customers have asked "why not American elderberries?" Here's "our why." Ukrainian dried elderberries have more "anthocyanins." Why does that matter? Anthocyanins are naturally occurring plant compounds with antioxidant properties that give elderberries their deep purple color. These results are one more reason we take such pride in the quality of the berries we source Testing Results To provide a transparent, side-by-side comparison, both samples of American elderberries and our Ukranian elderberries were sent to an independent ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory. Our USDA-certified organic Ukrainian elderberries and a sample of American-grown organic dried elderberries were evaluated using the same analytical method. The results: Our Organic Ukrainian Elderberries: 8.45 mg/g total anthocyanins American Organic Elderberry Sample: 2.11 mg/g total anthocyanins.
