It starts sweet and rich, with that unmistakable old-school Mexican caramel flavor. Then comes a little warmth from the guajillo. Nothing overwhelming, just enough to make things interesting.
Handmade in Torreón, Mexico 🇲🇽
The Hot Mama was born from a collaboration with Rogelio, a traditional Mexican candy maker in Torreón, Coahuila.
Rogelio and his family make their dulce de leche the old-fashioned way, slowly cooking it in copper kettles.
When he approached us about working together, we had one request: could he give his traditional candy a little Tamalitoz twist?
After plenty of experimenting, The Hot Mama was born. A celebration of Mexican candy-making traditions with just the right amount of attitude.
