About Tamalitoz
Tamalitoz is a candy brand headquartered in the Austin, Texas area, run by Jack and Declan. It began as Sugarox, a small candy studio in Mexico City where they cooked sugar in copper kettles and hand-stretched it on wall hooks while customers watched. Tamalitoz was born when someone saw their striped ribbon candy pillows—filled with a blend of chili, lime, and sea salt—and said they looked like “tiny tamales.” Today the company makes products including Tamalitoz Hard Candy, Chili Pops, Palomitaz Popcorn, and Dulce de Leche, centered on what they call a “sweet bait and spicy switch.”
